Universty of Bristol Research Project

The University of Bristol, School of Veterinary Sciences in Langford (North Somerset) is carrying out the research project 'Movement of horses and ponies between owners in Great Britain'.

This project focuses mainly on leisure horses and has been set up in order to give Great Britain a start in understanding the equine leisure sector, to investigate the welfare of equines throughout Great Britain and to profile the equine industry. Leisure horses are seen as a 'vulnerable' group of equines, because little is known about their movements and activities in comparison to sport or breeding horses.

We have set up an online survey in which we focus on equine trading and flexibility of equine ownership. The survey was launched on the 5th of May 2011 and will close on the 3rd of July 2011.

Halter/Obstacle Class Information

With the Championship Show fast approaching, it is time to reveal the courses for the Halter/Obstacle classes. After some deliberation it has been decided that it would be a good idea to introduce our horses to the varying disciplines required to succeed in this class more gradually and therefore, several new classes have been included in the schedule, this time.
